Pope St. Leo the Great
d. 461
Pope Saint Leo I (died 461) led the Church from 440 to 461, at a time when the Roman Empire in the West was collapsing. He is one of only two popes, with Gregory I, whom the Church calls "the Great," and he was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1754.
